About

Dr. Mawdsley is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the School of Human Development and Organizational Studies in Education (SHDOSE). She currently coordinates the human development and adolescent development courses within SHDOSE. Her early research interests stood at the intersection of developmental processes, early childhood and early intervention practices. Dr. Mawdsley’s research has included issues related to children with developmental disabilities (DD) and their families. Dr. Mawdsley has presented and written much about transactional relations between parenting stress and child behavior among families who have children with DD. Prior to her tenure at UF, she was the Program Evaluator for Maryland state’s Quality Rating Improvement System (QRIS) for child care quality. Dr. Mawdsley's current interests revolve around understanding student motivation while participating in service learning.
