Inclusive Excellence

The College of Education at the University of Florida is committed to preparing professionals and scholars to meet the needs of a diverse and global society. We are a collaborative, cohesive, and energetic community of faculty, staff, and students representing a range of races, cultures, and nationalities committed to high quality research, teaching, and service as well as to developing a culturally diverse faculty and student body.  The Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion and Community & International Engagement provides leadership and support for Inclusive Excellence.

Inclusive Excellence is the active process of including and respecting everyone as we strive for excellence and equitable outcomes in all we do at the University of Florida. Daily actions toward Inclusive Excellence are the responsibility of every one of us.

International Education

Our mission is to facilitate international collaboration, communication, and education in a diverse 21st century learning environment. We believe that global education is for everyone.

Holmes Scholars

The Holmes Scholars Program is sponsored by the American Association for Colleges of Teacher Education (AACTE). The AACTE Holmes Scholars Program provides mentorship, peer support, and rich professional development opportunities to doctoral students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds who are pursuing careers in education.

Erica McCray

About Dr. Erica McCray

Erica D. McCray is Professor and Associate Dean for Faculty & Staff Affairs, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion, and Community & International Engagement in the College of Education at the University of Florida. She earned her doctorate at the University of South Florida, Tampa. Dr. McCray’s experience as a special educator for students with behavioral and learning disabilities in elementary and middle school settings led to her interest in education policy and practice for equity and diversity. Her research extends P-20+ and includes educator effectiveness, diversity, and belonging.
