For the 2023-2024 rankings, U.S. News & World Report surveyed 459 schools—with 276 providing the necessary data to be included. Standings were determined based on nine weighted quality measures under four key categories: research activity (50%), quality assessment (25%), faculty resources (20%) and student selectivity (18 percent).

UF’s history of strong rankings is bolstered by this year’s performance. With a 65.1% increase in total funded research and a 60.1% increase to funded research per faculty the college’s rise is attributed, in large part, to growth in key areas of research activity. The college also saw notable improvement in areas of quality assessment and faculty resources.

“Through technological advances and breakthrough research, we’re working to create real-world solutions that address society’s greatest challenges,” Good noted.

UF’s rise in rankings is indicative of the overarching work faculty, students and staff are collaborating on to transform education. Highlights from 2022, ranging from AI to literacy to school safety, can be found in our college’s Impact Report.
