What will be my eligibility for teacher certification upon the completion of the program?
Graduates of SITE are eligible for Florida certification for elementary education, grades K through 6.
What is an Educators Preparation Institute (EPI)?
An EPI is an alternative certification program authorized by the Florida Department of Education and available to individuals who have completed a bachelor’s degree in an area other than education. The SITE program is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
Is the M.A.E. applicable to other states?
Upon completion of the SITE EPI, you will be eligible for professional educator certification in Florida. Holding educator certification in Florida may allow for you to be eligible for certification in other states. It will be important for you to contact other states in which you are interested in seeking employment to determine if they have additional requirements for certification.

Can I work in an elementary school while in the SITE Program?
You may be able to complete the Program while working as a Paraprofessional or Instructional aide in a classroom. You must be able to work in all subject content areas with groups of children.
