Description: THRILLED to announce that the Gainesville Fire Rescue’s Community Resource Paramedicine (CRP) Program is recruiting for part-time and full-time resource technicians! We are looking for highly motivated individuals who want to serve the Gainesville community!

The CRP Program aims to help Gainesville Residents better manage their health conditions in order to improve quality of life and reduce the frequency of non-emergency or unnecessary 911 calls. The resource technician role is critical in the success of this program. Some of the roles include:

Identifying and resolving social issues in order to reduce repeat 911 use, decrease hospital readmission and increase patient quality of life.
Manage a cohort of patients within various programs including chronic disease management, recovery response, and homelessness outreach and prevention.
Maintains relations with regional hospitals and social service programs to increase access for program patients.
Assigns, trains and oversees student interns and volunteers.

Resource Technicians also have potential for upward mobility including future positions such as the Program Coordinator and Community Health Director.

The Brown Center for Leadership & Service would like to announce the Presidential Service Award application is open, and closes March 7^th. To apply for the general Presidential Service Awards, click here!

The Presidential Service Award recognizes graduating undergraduate and graduate students who dedicate themselves to promoting social justice, community awareness, and civic engagement on campus and in the community. This award gives the University a chance to acknowledge students who made outstanding efforts in the areas mentioned above, many of which often go unrecognized and unrewarded. Additionally, the Faculty and Staff Advocate of the Year is a special Presidential Service Award that recognizes UF faculty or staff who have gone above and beyond in promoting UF students to pursue Service and leadership opportunities in the community. Each semester, my undergraduate research methods students undertake an original data collection research project focused on improving the justice system. This semester, we are examining police—community interactions by exploring perceptions of undergraduate students on campus police sponsored outreach events. The study has been approved by the UF IRB (IRB202100354) and my students plan to present their findings to UF police at the end of the semester. Description: The Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program Collaborative is a two-year conservation training program for undergraduates who are interested in careers in conservation and in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the field. Scholars take part in applied field research projects (1^st Summer – 2021), professional internships (2^nd Summer – 2022), mentoring, and form strong professional networks that span the country (and beyond). Description: The Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad (DDRA) Fellowship Program provides opportunities for doctoral candidates to engage in full-time dissertation research abroad in modern foreign languages and area studies. The program is designed to deepen research knowledge and increase the study of modern foreign languages, cultural engagement, and area studies not generally included in U.S. curricula.
Program Features: Students may request funding to support overseas research for a period of no less than six months and no more than 12 months. Funds support travel expenses to and from the residence of the fellow and the country or countries of research; maintenance and dependent allowances based on the location of research for the fellow and his or her dependent(s); an allowance for research-related expenses overseas; and health and accident insurance premiums. Projects may focus on one or more of the following geographic areas: Africa, East Asia, Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands, South Asia, the Near East, Central and Eastern Europe and Eurasia, and the Western Hemisphere (excluding the United States and its territories).
Eligible Applicants: Institutions of higher education (IHEs) in the United States are eligible to apply for grants under this program. As part of the application process, eligible students submit their individual research narratives and application forms to their home IHE. The IHE compiles all eligible individual student applications for inclusion in the institutional application that is submitted to the U.S. Department of Education. A student is eligible to receive a DDRA fellowship from their IHE if he or she

is a citizen, national, or permanent resident of the United States;
is a graduate student in good standing at an IHE;
is admitted to candidacy in a doctoral degree program in modern foreign languages and area studies at that institution when the fellowship period begins;
is planning a teaching career in the United States upon completion of his or her doctoral program; or
possesses sufficient foreign language skills to carry out the dissertation research project.

Description: This internship is intended to give undergraduate students at UF an opportunity for real-world experience in education and/or extension activities. Selected students will work alongside local K-12 youth from Cedar Key School. The hosts include UF/IFAS faculty as well as Cedar Key K-12 educators. Interns will participate in a summer wrap- up workshop where interns will summarize their experiences. This is a great opportunity for students to enhance their skill sets and explore career options in educational natural resource fields. This internship is open to current undergraduates from the College of Education, University of Florida.
Pay Rate: This internship is 240 paid work hours for a total of six weeks, and interns are paid $12.00 per hour for up to 40 hours a week.

About Camp Laurel South: Camp Laurel South is located near Portland, Maine in the heart of the Sebago Lakes Region. Its 150 unspoiled acres include woodlands, sports fields and open lawns. It’s location in the southern part of Maine makes Laurel South a most inviting summer retreat for campers and counselors alike. Each summer, Laurel South operates two four-week programs with 400 boys and girls, ages 7 to 15 in each session. They come from all over the U.S. as well as several foreign countries. Description: Camp Laurel South is a residential summer camp in Maine seeking college athletes to be activity instructors and camp counselors for the summer of 2021.
