Description: Applications for the 2022-23 cohort of the City of Gainesville fellowship are now open to all University of Florida undergraduates. Description: Guided Discoveries is looking for college students who are passionate about working with children!  Our summer camp in Clover, VA is looking for counselors for its AstroCamp, Camp CHOP, and Camp Motorsport programs. Summer camp provides a wonderful supplemental experience for education and counseling students.  Students will have the benefit of working with children in a more relaxed environment, allowing them to connect with children on a different level and in a different time frame than is often able to take place in a formal school or clinical setting.  Many of our staff continue on to teaching and counseling careers after leaving us, and they all have benefitted from the skills and experiences gained by working at our summer camps.  It’s a great way for current students to gain real-world experience and to get paid for it!  Plus summer camp is just… fun!  Our staff have opportunities to be creative, mentor children, make lasting, meaningful friendships, and develop skills that will benefit them in their personal and professional lives.

Description: ESOL Achievers is a non-profit organization at UF supporting over 100 ESOL (ESL) students at Gainesville High School (GHS), with around 80% of Latinx students from low-income families. Our organization works to provide support and guidance for our students to forge their unique paths to achieve their professional, educational, and personal goals through mentorship and tutorship.

We are recruiting volunteers interested in a community engagement project to promote mental health and well-being to the students beginning with a Wellness Fair at GHS. Volunteers would help us build and coordinate relationships with community partners for the fair and assist with the event. We are currently working on a mental health initiative to provide students access to equitable mental health services focused on mental health promotion and prevention through community partnerships that foster their social and emotional well-being to support their academic achievements.

This two-day event unites and edifies leaders to learn and practice the skills necessary to solve the complex problems of tomorrow. Through a collaboration between the BCLS and P4H Global, this Summit will equip students with the theoretical and practical elements P4H Global uses to transform the education system in Haiti so that they too can bring about sustainable development and social change. From skill-building sessions to breakout groups to case studies, the Summit equips participants to critically consider the issues they care about most.
