[av_toggle title=’FYCS Survey: Experiences with Parent Incarceration Research Study ‘ tags=”]
Description: A team of young adults who have experienced parental incarceration are partnered with adults in a research study to understand the support needs of children ages 12-19 who have also experienced parental incarceration.  This study is conducted through the youth participatory action research model (YPAR), in which young people’s lived experiences guide the research process. This work is being conducted in partnership with UF, Project YouthBuild Gainesville, and River Phoenix Center for Peacebuilding.

University students between the ages of 17-19 are eligible to participate if they have currently, or have in the past, had an incarcerated parent or primary caregiver, and are not wards of the state. 17 year-olds will need parent consent. Interested students can participate in focus groups with approximately five others to share about their experiences with parental incarceration, and will also complete a survey, in an in-person session at Project Youth Build Gainesville, lasting about two hours. They will be compensated $30 for their time. Please see the attached flier for additional information.
How to Participate: We are prioritizing focus group recruitment, but if they do not have time for the focus group, they can still participate in the survey by clicking on this link: https://ufl.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6txUb9gsOQnJBz0
