Program Highlights

Ready to translate knowledge into action? Our graduate certificate in disability studies moves beyond theory to provide a deep understanding of the experiences of people with disabilities, as well as legal and policy-related considerations. You will learn to apply these crucial perspectives directly to your own career, field of study and community. This program provides the tools to analyze complex issues related to disabilities in the education field and beyond. Students who have completed the certificate report that it has provided a more comprehensive understanding of the needs of clients, students, patients and colleagues.

Graduate Certificate in Disability Studies Program Curriculum

To earn the certificate in disability studies, students must successfully complete the four listed courses, and they cannot make substitutions. However, UF degree-seeking students may enroll in any of the courses outlined as part of their coursework in other graduate-level studies. Prospective students interested in completing a certificate must fill out the University of Florida’s application for certificate admissions.

Please note that the University of Florida Graduate School sets the requirements for graduate certificates, not the College of Education. Information about the current tuition for online graduate coursework in our college is located on our Tuition and Fees page.
