The College of Education awards scholarships to graduate and undergraduate students through an annual scholarship selection process. Eligibility for individual awards is determined by the College of Education based on a student’s Fall 2010 classification. Students who will be enrolled in Fall 2010 or have applied for admission in Fall 2010 are eligible to apply for College of Education Scholarships. All information submitted will be verified and all complete applications will be considered.
One scholarship application will qualify students to be considered for all College of Education Scholarships. A complete scholarship application includes:
- Application form
- Resume or Curriculum Vitae including educational qualifications, work experience, teaching experience, leadership positions held and professional activities
- A 500 word essay (typed, double-spaced) in response to the following:
Specify your career goals and how your study at the University of Florida relates to those goals. Include evidence of your interest in, commitment to, and/or potential for leadership in the field of education.
If you have previously applied for COE Scholarships, do not submit the same essay as in previous years.
- Two letters of recommendation from professors (letters can be submitted directly to Student Services Office)
- Official transcripts for students not currently enrolled at the University of Florida
- Students who would like to be considered for the Robert B. Primack Social Foundation for Education Fellowship or the Dr. James L. Wattenbarger Fellowship should note the additional application requirements.
**Several scholarships require demonstration of financial need. In order to be eligible for these awards, students must also submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on the FAFSA web site http://www.fafsa.ed.gov as soon as possible after January 1, 2010, but NO LATER than February 5, 2010.**
Application Deadline: Friday, February 12, 2010 at 5:00 PM
All scholarship application materials must be submitted to the Office of Student Services, G-416 Norman Hall, by Friday, February 12, 2010 at 5:00PM. Incomplete applications cannot be considered for selection.
All College of Education Scholarship applicants will be notified of a decision in March 2010. Students who are selected to receive a College of Education Scholarship will be invited to attend the Scholarship Banquet as a guest of the Dean. All College of Education Scholarship funds are available in the Fall 2010 term, unless noted otherwise.
