Application Instructions

Step 1: Submit your University of Florida Graduate School Application

  • Select On-Campus Ph.D. as your desired program
  • GRE Scores – Institution Code: 5812 (Ph.D candidates only)
  • Application for Fellowship or Assistantship fellowship-assistantship form (Ph.D. candidates only)
  • A $30.00 (non-refundable) Application Fee is required. Credit card payments require an additional $7.00 processing fee
  • Three (3) Letters of Recommendation
  • Statement of Purpose
  • Transcripts sent to: University of Florida, Office of Admissions, PO Box 114000, Gainesville, FL 32611-4000

NOTE: Previously enrolled graduate students, who have skipped two or more terms, and are looking to return to the exact same program and degree level at which they previously attended, should apply using the Returning Student Application.

Step 2: Supporting Application Material

Please upload the resume at the Upload Resume section of the UF online application. Please combine all documents into one PDF document for upload if you cannot upload separate documents.

Required Program Application Materials

  1. Résumé/CV – Pursuant to Florida Statute, your application requires inclusion of all post-high school education and employment, as well as information about ongoing international affiliations and research funding. Please ensure this information is included on your curriculum vitae (CV) or résumé.
  2. Personal statement with the following information –
            • Your career goals
            • Your interest in the counseling profession
            • How you believe our department can help you achieve your goals

    NOTE: Limit your statement to 2-4 double-spaced pages with normal margins.

  3. Three (3) Letters of Recommendation
  4. Transcripts
  5. TOEFL/IELTS Scores (International Applicant Information)
  6. GRE Scores – Institution Code: 5812 (Ph.D candidates only)
  7. Application for Fellowship or Assistantship fellowship-assistantship form (Ph.D. candidates only)
