About
Rui Tammy Huang is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Educational Technology and Computer Science Education at the University of Florida. She is also the Program Coordinator for the Computer Science Education Program.
Her research interests are multifaceted, with a primary focus on:
1. Taking an inclusive learning experience design (LXD) approach to design and develop courseware and software for computer science education.
2. Designing and developing virtual reality, game-based, and gamified learning environments to enhance students’ learning outcomes and overall learning experiences.
3. Advancing the theoretical underpinnings and bridge the gap between theory and practice of learning experience design for the field.
In the K-12 Computer Programming Foundations course she teaches, Rui Tammy Huang is actively applying learning experience design approach to systematically and iteratively design and develop differentiated learning courseware to address a diverse range of students’ prior knowledge and learning needs. Furthermore, she is innovatively incorporating cross-disciplinary pedagogies drawn from natural second language learning, offering valuable insights for the realm of programming language learning.
