How do I apply?

Students must submit applications to both the department and to the university graduate school. For more details visit the application process page.

When are applications due?

  • Summer admission – March 15
  • Fall admission – July 1
  • Spring admission – October 15

Please give yourself a minimum of two weeks prior to the application deadline to allow the university to receive official GRE scores.

All application material should be received by the deadline.

 

Does this program require the GRE?

The REM program does not require the GRE for masters’ applicants.

 

What is the cost of attendance?

The cost of living in Gainesville is relatively low, while having much to offer in the way of attractive natural, cultural and recreational amenities — especially compared with larger, more congested urban areas. How do I arrange a campus visit?

Applicants to the REM program are encouraged to schedule a campus visit, where they will have the opportunity to talk to REM faculty and students, and visit the REM facilities. All applicants interested in campus visitation should contact the REM program coordinator.

 

Is there financial aid available for this program?

Students are encouraged to apply to the UF Office for Student Financial Affairs for assistance with loans, grants, and fellowships.

 

How far in advance do I need to apply for financial aid?

Financial aid information is available from the UF Office of Financial Aid.  The financial aid process can take up to several months from submission to approval and disbursement.  This should be incorporated into the student’s plan for admission and done well in advance of acceptance and the begin date for the program.

 

Is teaching experience or certification required for admission into this program?

No.  Neither past teaching experience nor teacher certification are required in order to qualify for this degree program.
