Application Instructions

Non-degree-seeking students may enroll in the certificate program. Degree-seeking students may also apply for a certificate from our program. All certificates require the completion of at least 12 credit hours. Please note that these certificates do not yield teacher certification. Those interested in completing a certificate must fill out the University of Florida’s application for certificate admissions.

Application Materials

  • A $30.00 (non-refundable) Application Fee is required. Credit card payments require an additional $7.00 processing fee
  • Transcripts sent to: University of Florida, Office of Admissions, PO Box 114000, Gainesville, FL 32611-4000 or send electronic transcripts directly FROM the institution to the UF Office of Admissions at te@admissions.ufl.edu.

NOTE: Previously enrolled graduate students, who have skipped two or more terms, and are looking to return to the exact same program and degree level at which they previously attended, should apply using the Returning Student Application.

UF Certificate Guidelines

Please note the following University of Florida Graduate School certificate requirements:

    • No course substitutions are permitted for certificates.
    • No transfer credits are permitted for certificates.
    • Students must apply and be accepted into a certificate program BEFORE they have earned half the required courses. For the dyslexia certificate, this is before 6 hours are earned.
    • Students must apply to receive their certificate in the semester in which they plan to complete their final course.

    Application Deadlines

    The Graduate Certificate in Dyslexia admits students for the Fall and Spring semesters. Please view the deadlines below.

    • Fall Admission – June 30
    • Spring Admission – November 22
