We uniquely designed our school leadership track to offer working professionals across the country an online master’s in educational leadership from one of the nation’s top online graduate education programs. Students who take the typical course load can complete the program in just two years.

Graduates of this program are prepared for future school and district leadership positions of leadership at the school and district levels. The school leadership track offers the opportunity to earn eligibility for Florida Level 1 Educational Leadership certification, which is required to become an assistant principal or principal in Florida public schools.

Aspiring school leaders can pursue Florida Department of Education certification for public school leadership roles or explore pathways for leadership in private, charter, microschools, and out-of-state environments while enrolled in this program. We prepare leaders to be visionaries who partner with students, families, and communities to innovate and lead in a changing educational environment.

    M.Ed. in Educational Leadership Program Requirements

    • bachelor’s, master’s, or terminal degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a degree deemed equivalent by the University of Florida Office of Admission.
    • minimum grade point average of 3.0 upper-division (last 60 credits) undergraduate work.
    • An acceptable graduate grade point average for previous graduate work.
    • Students completing the certification track are eligible for Level 1 certification from the state of Florida after completing three years of teaching experience.

    COURSEWORK FOR SCHOOL LEADERSHIP TRACK: Students enrolled in this track will take 32 credits (Program Plan) in courses aligned to leading schools and the Florida Educational Leadership Standards (FELS).
