The Online M.Ed. program is uniquely designed to provide working professionals across the country a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from one of nation’s top online graduate education programs.

 

Program Overview

Coursework is delivered by knowledgeable, student-centered faculty and experienced administrators. The program includes mentoring, Florida Department of Education-required field experience and support for practicing school leaders.

Program Highlights

The M.Ed. can be pursued in one of two tracks – the degree with corresponding eligibility for Florida Level 1 certification in Educational Leadership OR the degree without corresponding eligibility for Florida certification in Educational Leadership. Students entering with at least three years of teaching experience are eligible for the certification track, though those entering with less can transition to the certification track upon completion of three years of teaching.

    M.Ed. in Educational Leadership Program Requirements

    • A bachelor’s, master’s, or terminal degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a degree deemed equivalent by the University Of Florida Office Of Admission.
    • A minimum grade point average of 3.0 upper-division (last 60 credits) undergraduate work.
    • An acceptable graduate grade point average for previous graduate work.
    • Students entering on the certification track should also have at least three years of teaching experience and evidence of their two most recent instructional evaluations demonstrating a score of effective or highly effective. Students with less experience can begin the program on the non-certification track and transition upon completion of three years of teaching.

    Entry: Spring, Summer, Fall
    Typical Course Load: 6 credits per semester
    Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-time or Part-Time
    Application Deadline: February 15th (Summer), July 1 (Fall), and October 15th (Spring)
    Average Class Size: 10-15 students
    Program Completion: ~2 years
    COURSEWORK FOR SCHOOL LEADERSHIP TRACK: Students enrolled in this track will take 32 credits (LINK) in courses aligned to leading schools and the Florida Educational Leadership Standards (FELS).
