Program Overview

Our Ed.S. program, exclusively tailored for practitioners within the K-12 and teacher education contexts, serves as a professional degree aimed at advancing master’s level training. It merges practical skills and theoretical insights with real-world experiences to foster enhanced professional practices in the field of education technology. Specifically designed for current educators, technology specialists, and K-12 professionals, our program focuses on utilizing technology to innovate curriculum, assume leadership in technology implementation, and effectively evaluate its impact in educational settings. The GRE is not a requirement for admission.

Graduates of this comprehensive program emerge as leaders at the classroom, school, and district levels, as well as pioneers in educational technology organizations and companies.

Program Highlights

Participating in our program will prepare individuals to lead technology implementation efforts and critically analyze technology use in local contexts, significantly improving the learning environments. The program’s structure allows for integrating transferable master’s degree credits in education-related fields, potentially enabling students to complete their Ed.S. degree in approximately two years. However, some students might need to opt for additional electives depending on the transfer credits approved (see our FAQ section for details on transfer credits).

Students are limited to taking no more than two courses per session. Nevertheless, the program offers flexibility, allowing students to progress at a pace that suits them best, crafting a personalized schedule based on course availability. The program culminates in a Supervised Research or Independent Study experience. This experience is only available during the summer and spans the full Summer C term.

    Program Requirements

    • A master’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a degree deemed equivalent by the University of Florida Office of Admissions.
    • A minimum grade point average of 3.0 upper-division (last 60 credits) undergraduate work.
    • An acceptable grade point average for previous graduate work.
    • The GRE is not required for admittance to the online Ed.S. program.
