What We Offer

Composed of several research specializations and teacher preparation pathways, our program is dedicated to understanding how humans acquire and use languages and the vital role they play in education. We prepare exemplary scholars and educators who can address critical topics including:

  • Linguistic Foundations: Bilingualism, Multilingualism, and Second Language Acquisition (SLA)
  • Instructional Innovation: English Medium Instruction (EMI), Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), and Technology-Enhanced Instruction.
  • Specialized Pedagogy: English for Specific Purposes (ESP), ESOL, and Multicultural Education.

Our students build on a deep foundation informed by linguistics, psychology, sociology, and instructional technology. Through a combination of rigorous coursework, teaching practica, and applied research opportunities with faculty and industry peers, we ensure our graduates are ready to inspire and lead in diverse educational settings.
