Write Yourself into the Art Museum! | Words on Canvas
Words on Canvas is an annual competition at the Harn Museum of Art for University of Florida and Santa Fe College students interested in inspiring museumgoers by writing poetry or prose connected with a work of art. This year, students can choose from 26 artworks covering each of the Harn’s collecting areas on view throughout the museum.
Writers of winning entries will be awarded fun prizes and have the opportunity to read their entry in front of their artwork at the Harn’s Museum. Their essay/poem will be printed in a brochure to be given to them, featured at the front desk and available for download on the webpage. Students may submit until midnight, March 11, 2021. The Laura Bassi Scholarship
The Laura Bassi Scholarship was established by Editing Press in 2018 with the aim of providing editorial assistance to postgraduates and junior academics whose research focuses on neglected topics of study, broadly construed. The scholarships are open to every discipline and the next round of funding will be awarded in Spring 2022.
All currently enrolled master’s and doctoral candidates are eligible to apply, as are academics in the first five years of full-time employment. Applicants are required to submit a completed application form along with their CV through the application portal by the relevant deadline. Description: This intern will work closely with education staff to develop and implement exhibition and collection-related art- making opportunities for family audiences both in and outside of the museum:

The CRP Program aims to help Gainesville Residents better manage their health conditions in order to improve quality of life and reduce the frequency of non-emergency or unnecessary 911 calls. The resource technician role is critical in the success of this program. Some of the roles include:
- Identifying and resolving social issues in order to reduce repeat 911 use, decrease hospital readmission and increase patient quality of life.
- Manage a cohort of patients within various programs including chronic disease management, recovery response, and homelessness outreach and prevention.
- Maintains relations with regional hospitals and social service programs to increase access for program patients.
- Assigns, trains and oversees student interns and volunteers.
Resource Technicians also have potential for upward mobility including future positions such as the Program Coordinator and Community Health Director.

This two-day event unites and edifies leaders to learn and practice the skills necessary to solve the complex problems of tomorrow. Through a collaboration between the BCLS and P4H Global, this Summit will equip students with the theoretical and practical elements P4H Global uses to transform the education system in Haiti so that they too can bring about sustainable development and social change. From skill-building sessions to breakout groups to case studies, the Summit equips participants to critically consider the issues they care about most.

Every year the Association of Hispanic Alumni at the University of Florida (UF-AHA) has the honor of recognizing Latinx students who have shown extraordinary scholarship, service, and leadership at the University of Florida, the greater Gainesville community, as well as their own communities. With the exception of our law school-specific scholarship, the Garcia-Loynaz Memorial Scholarship, all our scholarships are open to undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Florida. The Laura Bassi Scholarship
The Laura Bassi Scholarship was established by Editing Press in 2018 with the aim of providing editorial assistance to postgraduates and junior academics whose research focuses on neglected topics of study, broadly construed. The scholarships are open to every discipline and the next round of funding will be awarded in Spring 2022.
All currently enrolled master’s and doctoral candidates are eligible to apply, as are academics in the first five years of full-time employment. The 2022 University of Florida College of Education Research Symposium, “Advancing Education through Research,” is coming up! This event will take place from 2:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 14th. It is hosted by the UF College of Education, Education College Council, and Student Alliance of Graduates in Education who will provide an inviting environment for students, practitioners, faculty, and others to get together, share their work, and discuss pressing topics in education.
We are inviting all undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, teachers, and practitioners to submit a proposal to present at the symposium. If you are not submitting a proposal, save the date and join us at Norman Hall on April 14th to hear about the exciting work being done and engage in important discussions in education.
Here are a couple of details about the upcoming symposium:
- Symposium will be held from 2:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 14th – Save the Date!

College of Education Research Symposium
The 2022 University of Florida College of Education Research Symposium, “Advancing Education through Research,” is coming up! This event will take place from 2:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 14th. It is hosted by the UF College of Education, Education College Council, and Student Alliance of Graduates in Education who will provide an inviting environment for students, practitioners, faculty, and others to get together, share their work, and discuss pressing topics in education.
We are inviting all undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, teachers, and practitioners to submit a proposal to present at the symposium. If you are not submitting a proposal, save the date and join us at Norman Hall on April 14th to hear about the exciting work being done and engage in important discussions in education.
Here are a couple of details about the upcoming symposium:
- Symposium will be held from 2:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 14th – Save the Date!
- Proposal submissions (250 words maximum) are due by Thursday, March 10th – you can submit your proposal using this form: https://ufl.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3CQTtlUmkPWStRY

We need your help! EduGator Central-Student Services is collecting submissions for our Launch of UF’s Core Values. We are asking College of Education students (individuals or groups) to submit a piece of work to be evaluated by our selection committee for a cash award! You can submit an essay, poetry, photography, fine art, video, or any other form of personal representation that you feel exemplifies the UF Core Values. Description: The Florida Elks Youth Camp is hiring staff, camp counselors, and a manager! We are an 8-week non-profit residential camp in Umatilla. We do a week of staff training, and 7 one-week sessions of camp. We see about 336 campers every week between the ages of 9-13. Almost all of our campers come from the state of Florida, which makes us different than many camps out there.
Pay Rate: Counselors who receive $2,400 for the 8-weeks. Any staff who works for us become eligible to apply for the Van Duren Scholarship. This scholarship is up to $5,000 a year for 4-years. Every year is a new year, so a student has the opportunity to get more money every year based on their academic and personal performance.

UF Core Values Celebration!
EduGators, we want to thank you for doing your part to make the College of Education one of the best in the nation. Now, we want to celebrate! On February 9th we would like to emphasize the Core Values that make UF a Top 5 Public University. If you aren’t familiar with the Core Values, check out the website with more information.
We need your help! EduGator Central-Student Services is collecting submissions for our UF Core Values Celebration. We are asking College of Education students (individuals or groups) to submit a piece of work to be evaluated by our selection committee for a cash award! You can submit an essay, poetry, photography, fine art, video, or any other form of personal representation that you feel exemplifies the UF Core Values. The only requirement is that you are a College of Education major or minor student. Submissions can be sent to SSFrontDesk@coe.ufl.edu. We’ll collect submissions January 27th through February 6th. The winners will be announced on February 9th! We’ll be handing out three $100 awards to the top submissions.

Description: The Florida Elks Youth Camp is hiring staff, camp counselors, and a manager! We are an 8-week non-profit residential camp in Umatilla. We do a week of staff training, and 7 one-week sessions of camp. We see about 336 campers every week between the ages of 9-13. Almost all of our campers come from the state of Florida, which makes us different than many camps out there.
Pay Rate: Counselors who receive $2,400 for the 8-weeks. Any staff who works for us become eligible to apply for the Van Duren Scholarship. This scholarship is up to $5,000 a year for 4-years. Every year is a new year, so a student has the opportunity to get more money every year based on their academic and personal performance.
