Our online doctoral program is grounded in theories of adult learning and online learning. It is designed to encompass educational technology research in multiple environments, and is led by faculty with decades of instructional design and online teaching experience. In our research-based program, we provide both small-group and individual mentoring to our students. Our program also emphasizes the vital connections among theory, research and practice, equipping you with the tools to design highly effective and engaging learning environments.     Ed.D. Program Curriculum

    The online curriculum and instruction Ed.D. with a concentration in educational technology takes a minimum of 3 years to complete. Students must complete a minimum of 90 hours beyond their bachelor’s degree to graduate with their doctoral degree.

    • Credit Breakdown: You will complete at least 54 credits with your online cohort, filling the remaining requirements with electives and eligible transfer credits from your master’s degree.
    • Semester Schedule: You will take 6 credits alongside your cohort every Fall, Spring and Summer. This includes engaging in online courses and seminars, as well as online synchronous sessions.
    • Academic Expectations: Earning your degree requires completing all program requirements to the high standards expected of doctoral-level work.

    Ed.D. in Educational Technology Program Requirement

    • A Master’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a degree deemed equivalent by the University of Florida Office of Admissions.
    • An acceptable grade point average for previous graduate work.
    • No GRE requirement.
