Application Instructions

Please be aware that all required application materials must be submitted and received by the posted application deadline. The requirements on this page pertain to the online educational leadership M.Ed.- school leadership track.

Step 1: Submit your University of Florida Graduate School Application

  • Select online M.Ed. as your desired program
  • In the “Program Specialization” field, indicate whether you are applying for the “School Leadership Track” or “School Leadership Certification Track“. There are additional application requirements for the Certification Track.
  • A $30.00 (non-refundable) application fee is required. Credit card payments – require an additional $7.00 processing fee
  • Three (3) Letters of Recommendation. If applying for Certification Track, one of the letters should be from your school administrator (principal).
  • Statement of Purpose: This is your letter of intent. It should describe your interest in the program as well as your professional background, interests, and goals.
  • Transcripts sent to:

NOTE: Previously enrolled graduate students who have skipped two or more terms and are looking to return to the exact same program and degree level at which they previously attended should apply using the Returning Student Application.

Step 2: Supporting Application Material

Please upload the resume and your two most recent annual teacher evaluations with your UF online graduate application under “Other Upload” with the Upload Resume section of the UF online application. Please combine all documents into one PDF document for upload if you cannot upload separate documents.

Required Supporting Program Application Materials

  1. Résumé – Pursuant to Florida Statute, your application requires inclusion of all post-high school education and employment, as well as information about ongoing international affiliations and research funding. Please ensure this information is included on your curriculum vitae (CV) or résumé.
  2. If applying for School Leadership Certification Track, please also submit:
    • Valid Florida Teaching Certification
    • Two most recent Annual Teacher Evaluations (to include both Instructional Practice and Performance of Students components)

    Application Deadlines

    • All application materials for the online M.Ed. program must be received before February 1 (Summer semester start), June 1 (Fall semester start), or October 15 (Spring semester start). International students should apply three months before these deadlines to ensure time for processing.
    • Allow 2-4 weeks to gather all application materials, including official transcripts and letters of recommendation, as all materials are required for review and admission.
