Application Instructions

Our next educational technology Ed.D. cohort will start in Fall 2026. For this program, there are no early or rolling admissions; we will review all applications after the January 8, 2024 deadline. Please note that while other application deadlines in our college may differ, ours is in January.

Online Ed.D. Program Admissions Requirements

Applicants must have a completed Master’s degree from an accredited institution.

Applications should include: 

  • Three (3) letters of recommendation.
    • These letters should be from individuals who can speak to your current work and your likelihood of success in graduate school. Please note: the UF application form allows up to five letters, but we require at least three.
  • Statement of purpose (1-2 pages).
    • Be sure to explain why you would like to enroll in the educational technology Ed.D. online program, how it aligns with your professional goals and what possible research interests you might have. To upload this statement, please click “Additional Questions” in the menu of the application form, and upload this separate document as your “Statement of Purpose.”
  • A sample of writing
    • The sample can be a publication, report, or an academic essay/paper previously submitted as an assignment.
  • A signed letter of agreement that you understand the educational technology Ed.D. online requirements.

  • For the location of the intended program, please choose “Distance Education.”
  • For the program of study, please choose Curriculum and Instruction (Doctor of Education), Fall 2024.
  • Under additional information, the specialization should be “Educational Technology.”

Note: The GRE is not required for Fall 2026 cohort admissions. Should applicants wish to provide GRE scores, the University of Florida’s Office of Admissions only accepts scores sent directly from ETS using school code 5812.
