The educational technology specialization, offered within our Education Sciences major, is designed to establish a background understanding of and to help cultivate the skills needed to succeed in one of the most in-demand fields in the 21st century. From instructional design and multimedia to virtual and augmented reality learning environments, we have carefully crafted a sequence of courses to engage you in a mindful academic journey leading to a successful professional career.
The EdTech specialization is established as a direct response to employment demands at the national level. With the significant influx of learning technologies and web-based activities across industry and corporate settings, as well as educational institutions, there is an emergent need for skilled professionals. Innovative and flexible courses in this specialization make connections within the foundations of education to help prepare students to address these irreversible changes.
Benefits of this novel Education Sciences specialization therefore reach beyond the scope of EdTech subjects, making a strong positive impact on the overall technology proficiency of our students that is highly needed for a digital driven workforce. Upon completion, each student will have a fully developed ePortfolio showcasing their mastery in the field to prospective employers.
