On-Campus Ph.D. Program

How to Apply

  • Select Research and Evaluation Methodology as your desired program
  • A $30.00 (non-refundable) Application Fee is required. Credit card payments require an additional $7.00 processing fee.
  • Three (3) Letters of Recommendation
  • Statement of Purpose:  This two-page is a crucial component of your application to the Ph.D. program. It should comprehensively articulate your intentions and aspirations. Specifically, it should address the following points:
    1. Program Understanding: Clearly explain why you are interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in Research and Evaluation Methodology at the University of Florida. Demonstrate your understanding of the program’s core principles, structure, and objectives;
    2. Career Goals:  Describe your short-term and long-term career goals. Explain how the Ph.D. program will help you achieve these objectives and contribute to your professional growth.
    3. Research Interests:  Detail your specific research interests and how they align with the themes and areas of expertise within the program. Showcase your knowledge of current issues and trends in research areas of the program.
    4. Faculty Alignment:  Identify any faculty member with whom you would like to work. Discuss how their expertise/research aligns with your interests, and how you believe their guidance will be instrumental in your academic and professional development. Include any additional information that may strengthen your application. This could be relevant academic or professional experiences, personal achievements, or unique perspectives that you bring to the program.

  • Submit an official GRE score. When using electronic delivery, select school code 5812 (University of Florida).
  • All applicants from countries in which the official language is not English are required to submit official evidence of English language proficiency and meet the minimum score requirements. Details on acceptable tests and scores can be found on the UF International Center Website.

New Student Application Returning Student Application Grad Checklist

NOTE: Previously enrolled graduate students, who have skipped two or more terms, and are looking to return to the exact same program and degree level at which they previously attended, should apply using the Returning Student Application.

Application Deadlines

All application materials for the on-campus Ph.D. must be received before December 1 (Fall) or August 1 (Spring).

Admission to the program is based on a comprehensive review of all application materials. The program gives strong consideration to the statement of purpose, letters of recommendation, relevant work and/or life experiences, and performance in prior undergraduate and graduate coursework (GPA). Admissions decisions are based on selecting applicants who demonstrate promise for not only completing their degree, but for becoming a competent professional as well.
