The Educational Technology program adheres to the admission guidelines set by our home department, the School of Teaching and Learning (STL). Please refer to their admission guidelines for all degrees and certificates for important deadlines.

    Minimum Requirements for Ed.S. Degree

    All educational specialist (Ed.S.) student must meet the following minimal requirements:

      1. Successfully complete a minimum of 72 credits beyond the bachelor’s degree ora minimum of 36 credits beyond the master’s degree.
      2. Minimum of 3 hours of research methods
      3. Minimum of 9 hours in Curriculum and/or Foundations graduate seminars
      4. An area of specialization with at least 12-19 hours in the areas
      5. Minimum of 5 credit hours of Supervised Research (EDG 6910)
      6. Successfully complete a written and oral examination.
      7. A thesis is not required; however, each program will include continuing attention to a research component to the professional role for which the student is preparing.
