On-Campus Ph.D.
Doctorate Program
For those who want to push the boundaries of what we know about reading, language, and literacy. This research-intensive program prepares scholars to investigate the complex processes behind how people learn to read and write — and to translate that knowledge into practice, policy, and publication. Ideal if you’re drawn to academic careers in higher education or research leadership roles at educational organizations and institutes.
Requirements: Masters degree in relevant field
Typical Course Load: 9 credits per semester
Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-time (part-time is possible but not ideal)

Specialist Program

Reading Endorsement
Certificate Program
The Reading Endorsement certificate is designed for licensed educators who want to become the literacy expert on their team. Coursework covers reading development, diagnosis, and intervention strategies grounded in the science of reading — giving you the credentials and confidence to support struggling readers and lead literacy initiatives in your school or district.
