Frequently Asked Questions
Will my name be called as I walk across the stage?
Yes! All College of Education graduates will be recognized by name as they cross the stage at the Recognition Ceremony.
Is the College of Education ceremony for all majors?
The College of Education Recognition Ceremony is a college-specific ceremony that will celebrate all College of Education graduates — bachelor’s, master’s, specialist’s and doctoral candidates. Graduates will be individually recognized as they cross the stage.
Doctoral Commencement will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 9:00am in the Exactech Arena in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. Candidates will be individually recognized and all Ph.D. and Ed.D. degrees will be conferred.
The University-wide Commencement will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 7:00pm in the Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The ceremony will feature a speaker and confer all bachelor’s, master’s and specialist’s degrees.
Do I need tickets for the COE Recognition Ceremony at the Center for Performing Arts?
Yes, this venue requires all attendees, including children, to have a ticket.
What should I wear?
Graduates should wear their academic regalia to both the College of Education Recognition Ceremony and UF Commencement Ceremony.

Will I receive my diploma?
Graduates do not receive a diploma at the Commencement Ceremony or the COE Recognition Ceremony. Diplomas are mailed to the graduates. Learn more at https://registrar.ufl.edu/services/diplomas
Where can I park?
All parking is on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking restrictions are lifted for graduation weekend, but parking is limited. It is recommended that you arrive early, particularly if members of your party are elderly or have mobility impairments.

Will photos be taken?
Color photographs are available from University Photography, P. O. Box 2454, Tuscaloosa, AL 35403-2454, 205-391-9500. Graduation proofs are usually mailed from the vendor within 7-10 days of graduation. There is no obligation to purchase these photos.
How long will the ceremony last?
We expect the ceremony to last approximately one and a half hours, including the processional.
