Requirements
The society, as a community of scholars, has adopted and continues to pledge fidelity to four cherished ideals: Humanity, Science, Service, and Toil.
Membership in the Upsilon Chapter depends upon fulfillment of the following qualifications without regard to race, age, color, religion, gender, or handicapping condition.

- Intent to continue in the field of education
- Professionalism
- Leadership attributes
- Undergraduate Student
- Have 6 credit hours in education coursework in progress or completed
- Have completed 18 credit hours of collegiate coursework
- GPA of a 3.0 or higher
- Graduate Student
- Have at least 6 credit hours of education coursework in progress or completed
- Have completed 6 credit hours of graduate coursework
- GPA of 3.25 or higher
- Doctoral Student
- Be enrolled in an institution offering an education degree and have the intent to continue academically and professionally in the field of education
- Students Seeking Alternative Certification Requirements
- Hold a baccalaureate degree
- Completion of at least 3 credits (or equivalent) of a certification program
- Have at least 6 credits (or equivalent) of education courses programmed, in progress, or completed.
- GPA of 3.25 or higher
- One Required Recommendation for Application
Active participation is defined on a semesterly basis with completion of points in all categories such as professional development and service.
