Student Florida Education Association (SFEA) Meeting
Join the Student Florida Education Association (SFEA) at their first meeting of the fall semester on September 25th at 6:30 PM. The theme of the meeting is “Finding Your Voice Within the Teaching Profession.” Come learn more about SFEA and hear from former UF graduates about their experiences finding their voices at the start of their careers. SFEA is a COE student organization that thrives on integrity, respect, empowerment, and advocacy for education. SFEA strives to provide members with professional development and community outreach opportunities, as well as to promote educational policy awareness. AERA Minority Dissertation Fellowship in Education Research (Now Accepting Applications)
The American Educational Research Association (AERA) is pleased to announce the AERA Minority Dissertation Fellowship in Education Research. The Council of the AERA established the fellowship program to provide support for doctoral dissertation research, to advance education research by outstanding minority graduate students, and to improve the quality and diversity of university faculties. This fellowship is targeted for members of racial and ethnic groups historically underrepresented in higher education (e.g., African Americans, Alaskan Natives, American Indians, Asian Americans, Hispanics or Latinos, and Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islanders). This program offers doctoral fellowships to enhance the competitiveness of outstanding minority scholars for academic appointments at major research universities. It supports fellows conducting education research and provides mentoring and guidance toward the completion of their doctoral studies. All materials must be received by 11:59 PM (PST) on Friday, November 1, 2019. Karen T. Waters Scholarship
The Karen T. Waters Scholarship Fund is managed by the Community Foundation of North Central Florida. This is a one-time scholarship that is approximately $1,000.00. This scholarship is open to students from Citrus County, FL who will be attending the University of Florida for a degree in education or journalism. Qualifications to be considered include: academic record, activities, employment, community involvement, and financial need. Please email Nancy Parks for more information at nparks@cfncf.org.

Student Graphic Designer Position
Description: The ideal candidate for this position will possess strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including inDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Must be a self-starter who can follow directions carefully and efficiently. Primary responsibilities include:
- Design of graphic assets for print, including layout designs, advertisements, brochures, flyers and posters
- Design of graphic assets for web, including social media graphics, iconography, email newsletter designs, various web design assets and illustrations
- Design of graphic assets for marketing collateral materials, including conference displays, PowerPoint templates, apparel, promotional bags and other promotional items
- Coordination with team members, outside vendors, and clients to complete design projects on time
- Selecting images and graphics for various projects for the ETC team
- Attends weekly meetings with ETC team to remain on-track with strategic planning and projects
- Other duties as assigned

Student Housekeeper Position
Description: College of Education staff member is searching for cleaning help at home, with a possible opportunity to also babysit in the future. Responsibilities include household chores such as dishes, laundry, and picking up around the house, with a possibility for more per hour for deeper cleaning. The hours can be scheduled around your class times, but we would like them to be consistent from week to week. We are looking for someone who is reliable and responsible, and can work quickly to get lots done in the time you are at our home.
Hours: 5 hours a week (spread over a few days)
Pay Rate: $20 an hour

Howard Bishop Middle School Volunteers
