Gator Guest Services Position
Description: Game Day Ambassadors play a vital role in the success of the fan experience at Gators athletic events, and serve as representatives of both the University of Florida and Florida Gators. They maintain the operational policies in place for all Gators athletic events, and serve as liaisons between Gator Boosters, fans, game day staff, and Athletic Department Personnel. As Gator Guest Services-Game Day Ambassadors, you will be the face of the Florida Gators throughout each of our home athletic events. You will be answering fan questions, finding solutions to fan problems, and making all fans feel both welcome and comfortable during athletic events. Game Day Ambassadors get the added bonus of earning paid experience in behind-the-scenes game-day execution, or using the opportunity for their field experience or practicum fulfillment.
Minimum Experience Requirements: You must be at least 18 years of age. Those with flexible work schedules and the ability to work a non-standard work week to include evenings and weekends will be given priority. Applicants must be able to work ALL football games and at least two (2) additional sporting events a month throughout the fall. The ability to stand for long periods of time and regularly lifting and moving up to 50 pounds is required.
Benefits: This is a part-time position that is compensated at the current minimum wage, $8.56 per hour. There are no benefits associated with this position.
Additional Information: Once an official offer is extended and accepted, the candidate will be required to complete the federal Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9. The candidate will also be required to present acceptable and original documents to prove identity and authorization to work in the United States. The University Athletic Association, Inc. is an at-will employer, a separate company from the University of Florida and not a state employer.

International Mentoring Association Internship
Title: [REMOTE] International Mentoring Association Marketing Intern
Description: The International Mentoring Association is a resource network for mentoring excellence. The mission of the IMA is to provide networking opportunities and share practices and research for the accreditation of mentoring programs and the development of mentoring relationships. The IMA is seeking an undergraduate or graduate student who will work remotely and assist with various marketing, public relations, and social media projects. The student will work closely with the IMA Executive Board of Directors to determine necessary tasks and timelines for completion. Complete knowledge of programs is not necessary; however, we are especially in need of someone who knows how to edit a webpage using WordPress. A general marketing technological aptitude and willingness to learn is preferred. General duties may include:

Lastinger Center Data Volunteers
Description: The Lastinger Center is leading a statewide virtual listening tour to understand how communities, districts, and education systems are responding to COVID-19 school closures. To accomplish this task over the coming weeks, we’re looking for volunteers to assist us in collecting data from a variety of sources across Florida, including:
Volunteers will support this project by compiling publicly available data and conducting virtual interviews and focus groups utilizing protocols designed by UF COE research faculty. With the data, we will be developing a comprehensive report to be shared with our state’s education, community, and policy leaders. Each volunteer will be named as a contributor to the report.

Development Specialist
Description: A Development Specialist is needed for an eight year old boy. He is currently in a mainstream first grade classroom and needs a full-time developmental specialist to assist him. A typical day includes working on academics that include reading comprehension, adding and subtracting, spelling, writing, etc. In this position, you will work with parents, teachers, therapists, and doctors. The Development Specialist we are looking for will assist with all aspects of the school day, including therapy sessions. A bachelor’s degree with a focus on child development is preferred. We are looking for a true professional who will be an advocate for Tyce. Ideally, the position will begin in June 2020, so there can be a smooth transition prior to the current Development Specialist, Shannah, moving.
Salary: The job is a salaried position, starting at $32,000, plus a bi-annual bonus of $500, and benefits that include vacation and sick leave.

Words on Canvas: The Harn Museum’s Spring 2020 Writing Competition
Would you like a chance to have your poetry or prose featured in the Harn Museum of Art? Here’s your opportunity to write yourself into the museum! Words on Canvas is an annual writing competition open to all UF and SFC students who find inspiration in art. Writers will choose one of 28 artworks and submit a poem or prose piece inspired by it. Winning submissions will then be featured in the Harn’s Words on Canvas booklet and will garner prizes from the Harn gift shop! The program is supported by UF Honors Program. Campus Movie Fest
Campus Movie Fest (CMF) is heading back to the University of Florida! The 2019-2020 CMF tour is headed to over 50 colleges and universities around the U.S., giving students everywhere the equipment, training, and opportunity to share their stories on film. CMF at UF launches on January 29th. Students have one week, until February 4th, to make their best possible five-minute film. The CMF Tour staff provides training, support, and of course, amazing equipment, including a laptop loaded with creative software, a Panasonic HD camera, and sound gear. What’s the catch? There isn’t one! Thanks to CMF’s partners, participation is completely free for students. More than one million students have participated in CMF since it began in 2001. The UF McNair Scholars Program
Funded by the U.S. Department of Education as one of the federal government’s TRIO programs, this program prepares undergraduate students for pursuit of a doctoral degree by providing financial support, mentoring and opportunities so they can gain research experience, academic skills and strategies, and develop student/faculty mentor relationships that are so crucial for success in higher education. Assistant Learning Specialist Internship
Description: The Otis Hawkins Center seeks two Assistant Learning Specialist for a paid two-year internship. The internship is intended to provide a practical, hands-on experience in the area of Learning Services Support for Student-Athletes while pursuing a graduate degree at University of Florida. The Learning Services Program provides academic support and assistance for at-risk student-athletes at the University of Florida. The intern will: work with student-athletes with learning disabilities and ADD/ADHD; orient new student-athletes to the Disability Resource Center’s programs; assist in screening evaluations and referrals for assessment of learning disabilities; offer learning strategies; and refer students to appropriate campus resources. The intern will provide professional level support and programs to student-athletes in accordance with the regulations of UF, the SEC, the NCAA, Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Howard Bishop Middle School Science Night Volunteers
Description: Volunteers needed for The Howard Bishop Middle School Science Night! On Thursday, February 6, HOWARD BISHOP MIDDLE SCHOOL is hosting its fifth annual Family Science Night. The event takes place from 5-7:30pm on the Howard Bishop campus. We need volunteers anytime after 4pm to do everything from prep work to manning some of the hands on activity booths. Resilience Charter School Tutors & Mentors
Who We Are: Resilience Charter is a small public middle school in Gainesville. The founding principles are innovation, social justice, and environmental stewardship. The school serves a diverse population with over 65% of students qualifying for free or reduced lunch. In order to provide the students with more equitable opportunities, the school strives to build a supportive and engaging learning environment through project based learning, social emotional learning, immersive technologies, and authentic relationships with students.
Needs: We are seeking volunteers to work with students in the classroom and during after-school tutoring. Volunteers will build relationships with teachers and students and will assist students in completing their schoolwork.
Job Schedule: Tutors and mentors are needed at various times from 9:00-4:30 on Mondays-Fridays. Volunteers may choose their weekly amount of hours. Students may record their hours for course credit or community service.

Disability Resource Expo Volunteers
Description: The Disability Resource Expo is a free event which provides opportunities for parents and professionals to connect and discover many of the wonderful resources available in Alachua County and surrounding areas.
We are looking for positive individuals to help with vendor sign-in and set-up (E.g. assistance with carrying tables, chairs, and finding designated set up area,) hanging banners, directing attendees, roaming and observing inside and out during the event to assist people and pick up trash as needed. After the event we will need volunteers to assist with break-down of booths, assist vendors in returning to their vehicles, pulling down banners and signs and storing them for future use, as well as trash and general clean up inside and out.
We will sign your volunteer forms! Bring your volunteer credit forms or let us know prior to the event and we will provide forms for you. If you need a form, please make a note in the comments section provided when signing up.
