UF Mindfulness 360° Practice Group
The UF Mindfulness 360° Practice Group is offered online through Zoom this semester at no cost to the UF community. The sessions are offered by volunteers with kind hearts of the UF Mindfulness faculty team. With this group we aim to build a community of students, faculty, and staff members who share an interest to practice and learn about mindfulness. Donations are greatly appreciated to keep our efforts moving forward. You can make a contribution here.
The more sessions you attend the more benefits you will reap. Participants are awarded an attendance certificate for attending 10+ sessions upon request. You only need to register once to gain access to all 14 sessions. There will be one 1 hour long session every Monday from 5:30 to 6:30 PM via Zoom. Early Childhood Education Assistant, Florida Museum of Natural History
Description: We are committed to being a welcoming museum that reflects and enacts the values of inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility. We seek candidates who will not only enhance our representational diversity but also work with the Discovery Zone Coordinator and staff to enhance each visitor’s experience in the Florida Museum’s Discovery Zone exhibit for children ages 0-8 years and their caregivers. Focus on expanding programming for non-traditional audiences from diverse backgrounds and developing and evaluating early childhood nature-based education programs both in the exhibit and outdoors. Ensures programs are developmentally appropriate, linked to evidence-based early learning standards, and are aligned with the Museum’s mission of inspiring people to care about life on Earth.
Normal work schedule is 24 hours within 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., weekly, primarily weekends (Saturday, Sunday) and Monday with possible other weekday hours. Flexible schedule necessary to accommodate required weekend Discovery Zone hours and programming hours. Schedule varies with program needs and includes hours during times when the University is closed. The Discovery Zone is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas when the Museum is closed.
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour.

Balance 180 Volunteers
Description: Balance 180 is a local non-profit organization that focuses on integrating children with varying abilities through sports. Our volunteers work 1 on 1 or 2 on 1 with our athletes who have disabilities including autism, Down syndrome, ADD/ADHD, and cerebral palsy, among others. This is a great hands-on learning experience for student volunteers.
This Fall we have an opportunity for students to work with our athletes in the Adaptive Gymnastics Program on Saturdays from 1:00-2:00pm. This is a gymnastics class that is specifically designed for children with varying abilities. We set up the gym in rotations that include vault, bars, beam, floor, and a tumble track, so our athletes can work on a variety of motor skills. The athletes have a range of disabilities including autism, Down syndrome, ADD/ADHD, and cerebral palsy.

MentorGNV
Description: MentorGNV, a student volunteer organization at UF, will be opening its applications on August 29th, 2022. MentorGNV is a 501(c) nonprofit volunteering and community service organization that serves the Alachua County Public School system. On a weekly basis, mentors work with students from elementary to high school (in a one-on-one or group setting) through mentoring and tutoring sessions. Ultimately, our goal is to guide underserved students toward the path to success.
Notably, your experience with MentorGNV is what you make it: you can select which school to volunteer at, what grade levels to work with, and what days and times to volunteer at. That’s right— we work with your schedule, not the other way around! Plus, MentorGNV is not major-exclusive. We accept members from all majors!

Gator Junior Golf Volunteers
Description: Gator Junior Golf is a non-profit association that provides group golf lessons to kids starting at the age of 4. Volunteers can help the lead coach provide instruction, ensure that safe and etiquette golf practices are being demonstrated by the students, help set up or put away golf equipment, etc. Not only will volunteer hours be earned, those who help will be growing the game of golf and having a positive impact on our students.
How to Volunteer: The fall schedule is posted on https://gatorjuniorgolf.org/ which includes class locations and times. Some experience in golf will be useful but not necessary!

P.K. Yonge Tutoring Resource List
Description: Dear COE Students! P.K. Yonge has had several families ask about resources for tutoring. P.K. Yonge does not facilitate private tutoring but we would like to provide a resource list to families for tutors.
Contact: If you are interested in being on the resource list, please email PKY middle school counselor Devin Bogart at dbogart@pky.ufl.edu. Include your name, subjects you are comfortable with, and your contact information. We have had a lot of requests for help finding middle school math tutors specifically. Families will contact you directly to discuss availability and tutoring rates.
Childcare for Children’s Ministry
Description: Join an awesome team working with kids in a safe, fun and energetic environment for kids to enjoy! We are seeking childcare workers and teachers for our children’s ministry at CityLight Church including ages nursery, preschool and elementary. Background checks are required.
