Kasich also served as a member of Congress from central Ohio for 18 years and as chairman of the House Budget Committee, where he enacted historic welfare reform. After leaving Congress in 2000 and running for President, Kasich worked as a managing director in the Investment Banking Division of Lehman Brothers. He was also a commentator for FOX News and a Presidential Fellow at his alma mater, The Ohio State University.

As governor, Kasich’s top priority is to create a jobs-friendly climate to increase opportunity for all Ohioans. In addition, the governor has confronted other challenges facing Ohio – and the nation. Kasich has tackled the dangers of drug abuse and addiction, modernized Ohio’s infrastructure and promoted bipartisan solutions to health care reform, immigration and international trade.

Kasich is the author of four New York Times best-sellers: Courage is Contagious; Stand for Something: The Battle for America’s Soul; Every Other Monday; and most recently Two Paths: America Divided or United, which reflects on his 2016 presidential campaign and his hopes for America’s future.
