DCP Diversity Ambassadors Presents: John Quinn, Decorated U.S. Navy Veteran

March 14, 2022 @ 5:30 pm

The College of Design, Construction, and Planning Diversity Ambassadors is an organization where students from DCP come together to discuss diversity topics. We bring in guest speakers from all sorts of backgrounds from psychology, planning, construction, government entities, authors, etc. We will be having a guest speaker John Quinn, who served 20 years in the Navy with Cerebral Palsy. He did not announce that he had Cerebral Palsy until he did his retirement speech and then wrote a book about how he was able to serve with Cerebral Palsy.

During his career, John was named the Administrative Leading Chief of the USS John C. Stennis, the Awards Branch Head at the Commander Naval Surface Force US Pacific Fleet, and the Assistant Ship Secretary of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. John retired in 2002, as a Senior Chief Petty Officer, the second highest rank available for enlisted sailors. https://www.cerebralpalsy.org/inspiration/athletes/john-quinn
