It’s Venezuela, not Minnesota

April 14, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 2:45 pm

Venezuela is currently facing one of the most detrimental humanitarian crisis in the world. Inflation, currency devaluation, food and medicine shortages and the prevalence of crime amongst other things, are all part of the reason why the quality of life of Venezuelans has been lower than what a human being deserves. The Venezuelan Student Association (VENSA) with the sponsorship of the Hispanic Student Association (HSA), the Center of Latin American Studies and the UF International Center have created an open discussion for students to share thoughts and ideas.

With this discussion, our goal is to be able to thoroughly understand the severity of the crisis and with each prospective team, find a solution to different aspects of the problem, without bringing politics to the table. With this project in mind, we want to bring awareness to the University of Florida and Gainesville as a whole, considering the amount of Venezuelans that now live in the community.

Feel free to ask questions. Food will be provided for participants. Event is open to the public. More details here: https://m.facebook.com/events/1828472824125528
