I am the Associate Director of UFTeach, an innovative initiative designed to dramatically strengthen the recruitment and retention of middle and high school mathematics and science teachers, a critical workforce need in Florida and across the nation. This mission will be accomplished through new partnerships between the University of Florida’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and College of Education and several Florida school districts. I have also supervised prospective teachers, worked with mentors, and engaged with school faculty to establish collaborative models of teaching and learning and collaborative work ethics among the professional development communities. In addition to teacher preparation and professional development, my research interests include collaboration, inclusion, and diverse learners. I focus on these topics through a variety of scholarly activities (e.g., part of a research grant, manuscripts, professional development).
