EDG 6931: Doctoral Seminar on Rural Education
Although nearly one-third of Florida’s schools are considered “rural” following US education definitions of rurality (NCES, 2004, 2006), we know very little about how schools function in rural settings (Nugent, Kunz, Sheridan, Glover, & Knoch, 2017) and ways to improve learning for rural students. This advanced graduate level seminar explores rural education, and unpacks ‘rurality’, stereotypes and beliefs surrounding rural schools. Additional course details here.
