Student Florida Education Association (SFEA) Meeting

Join the Student Florida Education Association (SFEA) at UF at their first virtual general body meeting of the fall semester on 9/28/2020. The topic of the meeting is “Adapting Best Practices in COVID Circumstances” and we will be hearing from educators about how they have adapted best teaching practices to either a virtual learning environment or a face-to-face environment with new COVID safety protocols in place. Study Abroad Fair
Join the UF International Center on Monday, September 28th from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM for the fall Study Abroad Fair! At this fair, you can learn more about all of the exciting international opportunities for UF students, including study, intern, research, and service-learning programs. Many UF faculty members will be present to promote their Spring and Summer 2021 programs as well as a variety of third-party providers who have program options all over the world! From Colored to Black | The Stories of North Central Florida
From Colored to Black explores the intersections between public health education, oral history performance, and community arts activism, and functions as a multi-modal platform to communicate health data, historical research, and the lived experience of the Black community to the public. Created by emerging African American playwright and UF graduate Ms. Brittney M. Caldwell, and Jeffrey Pufahl, Lecturer in the Center for Arts in Medicine, this groundbreaking play incorporates dramatized Civil Rights era oral histories excavated from the UF archive into an analytical framework designed to educate audiences and provoke critical dialogue. Jewish Educational Loan Fund
JELF (Jewish Educational Loan Fund) provides interest-free loans for Jewish students in need to meet their post-high school, educational goals. Undergrad, graduate, vocational and/or technical school students are eligible to apply. JELF’s interest-free loans serve as “last dollar” loans, meaning that JELF requires students to assemble a financial aid package before applying for funding from JELF. Available to residents of FL, GA, SC, NC, and VA. The JELF no-interest loan application is available now on JELF.org until September 30th. This loan application period is for student who need funding for the 2021 spring and/or summer semesters.

Harn Museum of Art Spring 2021 Internships

Description: Intern at YOUR art museum! Harn internships are offered with the goal of providing professional experience, growth opportunities and guidance from museum professionals. Spring internships in the Education Department are available in Campus Engagement, Community & School Outreach and Family Programs.

Gender Equity Student Advisory Board

About the Office for Accessibility and Gender Equity: The Office for Accessibility and Gender Equity which ensures Title IX compliance is seeking individuals to serve on the student advisory board. This board will work directly with the Education and Training Coordinator and provide input on gender equity policies and programming. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain insight into higher education administration and policy. Board terms are one year and students can apply through the links below.
Description: Join the Gender Equity Student Advisory Board! The Office for Accessibility and Gender Equity is accepting applications for the gender equity student advisory board. Engage with your peers and build a culture of care on campus, while gaining experience in education administration and policy. The student advisory board advises the Office on gender equity policy and education efforts across campus.

The Office for Accessibility and Gender Equity is dedicated to building a culture of care and putting an end to sexual-based misconduct and relationship violence. Our goal is for every Gator to have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to develop, maintain, and promote healthy relationships.

Kindergarten Tutor

Description: I’m a parent of a kindergartner doing digital academy through Expressions Learning Arts Academy locally here. We need of a student to work with Karlyn to get her school work done and teach her the material provided by the school. We need someone who is being very cautious with COVID, preferably a graduate student with their own transportation.
Schedule: 8 – 10 hours per week with a very flexible schedule.

Nanny in Newberry

Description: We need a nanny for our two boys in Newberry for a very active and organized family. Duties include picking up from school, bringing home, and helping with homework.
We would also prefer someone who could help out with light housekeeping and preparing meals. We do have pets, so please consider that when applying. Part of your other responsibilities will also include running errands, laundry, and taking to after school activities.

Description: Spanish-speaking adult learning English as a second language is seeking English language tutoring via zoom or other video conferencing from a fluent English speaker who also speaks Spanish. Ideally the tutor would be available for 2 – 3 45 min. classes.

Nanny for Fall Semester

Description: Nanny needed for our 11 month old. We are looking for an education student who can take care of our baby for two to three days (half days) during the week. Because of COVID, we would prefer someone who is practicing social distancing, wearing masks, avoiding parties, and is willing to wear a mask when watching our child. The ideal candidate would love our baby, be trustworthy, be willing to communicate with us, and refrain from using their phone as much as possible. Our baby is at the transitional stage of crawling to learning to stand and walk. She needs your focus in case she falls down and then bumps her head suddenly. We know that education students attend online courses and have Zoom meetings, and the hours can be flexible. And because of this, we may hire more than 1 student to watch her on different days.
When: 2-3 days per week, 3-5 hours per day.
Pay: Price is negotiable.
