ACCENT Presents: John Mulaney

GAINESVILLE, FL — Emmy award-winning writer and comedian John Mulaney will speak on April 19 at the Curtis M. Phillips Center at an event hosted by ACCENT Speakers Bureau. Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the comedy show will begin at 8 p.m. Students with a valid UFID may pick up a maximum of two tickets free of charge from the ACCENT office on the third floor of the J. Wayne Reitz Union on April 18 between the hours of noon and 5 p.m. If any tickets remain, they will be made available to the general public at the Philips Center Box Office at noon the following day.

John Mulaney started his career in New York’s East Village and has since toured around the world. The comedian most recently starred in the Broadway hit “Oh, Hello on Broadway” alongside Nick Kroll. He currently writes for IFC’s “Documentary Now” and for Netflix’s “Big Mouth.” He also voices the character of Andrew on “Big Mouth.”

In 2008, Mulaney began writing at “Saturday Night Live” where he appeared as a “Weekend Update” correspondent and co-created characters, including Bill Hader’s “Stefan.” Mulaney released his first comedy album “The Top Part” in 2009. His Comedy Central special and second comedy album “New in Town” was released in 2012. After the release of “New in Town,” KenTucker of Entertainment weekly hailed Mulaney as “one of the best stand-up comics alive.” In 2015, Mulaney released the Netflix original stand-up special “The Comeback Kid.” The AV Club called the special “his best hour of his career.”

Mulaney was born in Chicago, Illinois. He is now married and owns a French Bulldog named Petunia.
