Alena Prikhidko was named a recipient of the 2017 Alec Courtelis Award. The award is given annually to three outstanding international graduate students at the University of Florida. Mrs. Prikhidko is an international student from Russia. She has worked diligently throughout the doctoral program to develop as a scholar, teacher, supervisor, leader, and advocate. Her research interest focuses on emotion regulation. In addition to her service to the counselor education program at UF and the local and national counseling community. She has also worked to advance counseling in Russia through the development of counseling ethical standards in Russia, as well as other endeavors.
