This orientation assumes a student is enrolled in the doctoral program, having earned previously a minimum of a masters in counseling or closely related field. Students at the entry-level MED/EDS or EDS only level should refer to the Practicum and Internship Orientation for Entry-Level Students. This orientation will review elements of the clinical and counselor educator curricular experiences found under the Doctoral Practicum and Internships section of planned programs, requirements, and expectations.
MHS/SDS 7830 and MHS 7804/MHS 7807/SDS 7820
- Advanced Practicum in Counseling (3 credits) and/or
- MHS/SDS 7830– Internship in Counseling and Development (5 credits)
Advanced Practicum is 100 hours minimum, and 40 hours of direct service.
Internships in Counseling and Development are 600 hours minimum, with 240 hours of direct service.
