Words on Canvas: Write yourself into the Harn Museum of Art!
Words on Canvas is an annual competition at the Harn Museum of Art for University of Florida and Santa Fe College students interested in inspiring museumgoers by writing poetry or prose connected with a work of art. This year, students can choose from 29 artworks covering each of the Harn’s collecting areas on view in the exhibition Breaking the Frame: Women Artists in the Harn Collections.
Writers of winning entries will be awarded fun prizes and have the opportunity to read their entry in front of their artwork at the Harn’s Museum Night in April (now online). Their essay/poem will be printed in a brochure to be given to them, featured at the front desk and available for download on the webpage. Students may submit until midnight, February 21, 2021. Canvas Professional Development Trainer
Description: Resilience Charter School, a small non-profit middle school serving grades 6-8 in Gainesville, is seeking to hire a trainer to provide professional development around best practices with digital course design, specifically using the Canvas LMS. We are typically a very hands-on project based learning school. Due to COVID-19 and a majority of students learning from home, we have rapidly converted to providing all of our coursework through Canvas, with live Zoom classes to support students during regular class periods (some students are on campus and others are at home).
As our school is new to online course design and digital teaching methods, we are seeking to improve our practices with an expert trainer in this field. We are able to schedule this training during a teacher workday on January 22 and/or over a series of Wednesday afternoons.

Afterschool Care
Description: Seeking responsible and attentive adult for paid afterschool care of a child with special needs. Duty would include picking up/meeting our 12-yr-old son at Sidney Lanier Center and spending the afternoon with him until we can pick him up after work. He has ASD and some cognitive impairments, but communicates, is well-behaved, and has excellent manners. He uses the restroom on his own. The ideal person has an interest in working in an ESE environment and can assist him with his weekly “homework” from his speech and occupational therapists.
Schedule: Will likely only need help on Wednesday from 1:45 PM until around 5:00 PM.
