M.A.E. Frequently Asked Questions

Is this Master’s program offered online?

No, this is a campus-based program. If you want an online program, consider our Teacher leadership for School Improvement M.Ed.

How long will it take to finish this degree?

The length of program will depend on whether you take classes full time (3 per semester) or part time (1-2 per semester), and whether you take summer classes or not. Some students finish in a year, and others take longer.

Is this a cohort program, or can I move at my own pace?

This is not a cohorted program. We have rolling admissions and the programs of study are personalized to your interests and goals.

How much does this program cost?

Participants will be responsible for tuition, books (price varies), travel, housing, and application fee. Students can anticipate taking a minimum of 30 credit hours for program completion. Tuition differs for FL Residents and non-residents.

As with all universities and colleges, tuition rates are rising. We cannot anticipate future UF tuition costs but our state legislature seems to value keeping our state universities affordable. To gain the most accurate estimates on tuition costs, we recommend you explore the University of Florida Financial Affairs webpage at http://www.sfa.ufl.edu/basics/cost-of-attendance/

Are there opportunities for funding or scholarships?

The College of Education offers scholarships to qualified students. Please consult the scholarships website for additional information (https://education.ufl.edu/student-services/scholarships/)

We encourage all students to consult the UF Financial Aid Office to see what funding opportunities/sources are available for degree-seeking students. That information can be found at: http://www.sfa.ufl.edu/

Do you admit on a rolling basis, or only once a year?

We admit students on a rolling basis. When your application is complete, we will review it and process the admission decision.
