Who is this program for?
This program is designed for educators interested in teaching computer science or who are new to teaching computer science. You do not have to have any previous computer science background to join this program.
How many credit hours does this program consist of?
Certificate program is 12-credit hours
MAE program is 30-credit hours
Ed.D. program is approximately 48-credits and 12-credit hours of dissertation, depending on the transfer of credits from a relevant master’s degree.
How long will this program take to complete?
Certificate program is designed to be completed in nine-months
MAE program is designed to be completed in 18-months
Ed.D. program is designed to be completed within 3 – 4 years
How much does this program cost?

What is the anticipated time commitment/workload?
Educators should plan to spend a minimum of 5-10 hours per course per week, meaning throughout this program, teachers should be able to commit to spending 10-20 hours of work on this program per week.
Can I earn the certificate and degrees at the same time?
Yes, you can earn the certificate and the degrees simultaneously. However, you must apply to both programs in advance and you must remember to apply for the graduate certificate after you have completed the required coursework.
Do I need a background in computer science to be successful in this program?
No, this entire program has been designed on the premise that you have no or limited knowledge of computer science.
Will this help me pass the Computer Science K-12 FTCE?
Yes, although this is not a test prep program, the content covered in the exam was considered as this program was designed.
