UF Counselor Education Students and Faculty Advocate for Counseling at the Capitol
For the 5th straight year, UF Counselor Education students, faculty, and alum joined with the Florida Counseling Association (FCA) to advocate for the clients we serve and the counseling profession. The group spent the day meeting with state legislators and attending committee meetings at the state Capitol in Tallahassee. It was also Gator Day at the Capitol and the group ran into UF President Kent Fuchs along with other university and college leaders while there. A staff member from the American Counseling Association also flew to Tallahassee and joined the group for the day. A special thanks to the FCA Advocacy Committee Co-chairs (Kate Williams, UF counselor ed doctoral student, and Anne Flenner, UF CE program alum) for organizing the event.
