Option 1: Obtain the M.Ed. in Reading using the following plan.
Option 2: Earn a bachelor’s degree or higher with 30 semester hours in reading. thes 30 hours include the coursework described in this plan.

RED 6548: Remediation of Reading Difficulties (3 hours)
RED 6941: Practicum in Diagnosis & Remediation of Reading Difficulties (3 hours)
Area Three: Language Arts and Literature (9 hours)

LAE 6939: Literacy, Family, & Culture (3 hours)

Area Five: Florida Teacher Certification Exams
At the completion of the course and prior to graduation, candidates must submit passing scores on the Florida Teacher Certification Exam for Reading K-12. For information about the examination registration process and dates, please pick up a test booklet in Norman 2403 or in the College of Education Office of Student Services in Norman G416. You can also obtain information about the exam from the Florida Department of Education.
NOTE:
Candidates must submit transcripts for course count content analysis to the Florida Department of Education for Florida Reading Certification at the completion of their coursework.
UF Unified Elementary ProTeach students who are interested in obtaining reading certification should use the Florida K-12 Reading Certification Plan for UEP ProTeach students at UF.
