Zoom Collaboration Service Available at UF
The Zoom service is now available for UF faculty, students, and staff. For those unfamiliar with Zoom, it is a service that provides connection capabilities for video conferencing, online meetings, chats, and mobile collaborations in an easy, intuitive way.
Zoom is already integrated with UF’s e-Learning environment and connecting Zoom to your Outlook mailbox makes scheduling and accessing meetings a breeze. Zoom also provides high-quality transcriptions of what’s been recorded — a great tool for sharing meeting recaps or reviewing lecture notes.
Anyone with a Zoom account can create meetings to accommodate up to 100 participants. Additionally, UF IT offers “Zoom webinar rooms” with 100, 300, 500, and 1000 “seats” for larger lectures, meetings, and university events.
A Zoom webinar room may be reserved by opening a myIT ticket.
There is excellent “how to” information on using Zoom, requesting a large capacity Zoom webinar room, integrating Zoom with Outlook, and more on UFIT’s Zoom webpage.
Please reach out to the UF Computing Help Desk if you have additional questions about using the Zoom collaboration service.
