Stakeholders and alumni gathered on June 4 for the Higher Education Doctoral Graduates Reunion and Recognition Celebration hosted by the Institute of Higher Education at the University of Florida. Attendees honored the legacy of founder, James L. Wattenbarger, and 25 years of outstanding program graduates, and participated in group sessions with current higher education administration faculty, students and alumni.
In May, the University of Florida honored members of The Gator Nation® who have had substantial impact on diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and/or justice efforts within their local communities, industry or at UF — two EduGator alumni were recognized.
Three remarkable EduGators joined the 2022 list
On November 15, members of the class of 1968 returned to campus as part of the annual Grand Guard reunion.
The University of Florida has selected three-time graduate of the UF College of Education, Dr. Gerardo González, to receive its 2018 UF Distinguished Alumni Award. This award is the highest honor a graduate can achieve and signifies a graduate’s contributions in his or her chosen field or outstanding service to the university. The distinction is reserved only for those who have achieved true excellence.
The 2018 Outstanding Young Alumni Awards recognized two EduGators who have impacted the lives of many through service in education. Lauren L. May BAE ’08 & MED ‘09 and Christopher M. Mullin BAAED ’99 & Ph.D. ’08 (Higher Ed Amin) have both dedicated their careers to the field of education, creating a significant impact in the lives of students and communities they serve leading us into the future.
