Low-Cost, Short-Duration Webinar I: Research Requirements and Recommendations for a Strong Application
During this webinar, IES staff will provide an overview of the specific requirements for the research study proposed by an education agency in partnership with a research institution. In particular, they will describe the types of education policies or programs that are suited for these competitions, the research designs that are permitted, and the expertise that researchers should have to carry out this work. The December webinars will cover the same material, so potential applicants can choose between the two dates they are offered.
This webinar will be held on the following dates and times (Eastern Standard Time):
December 14, 2017 (Thursday), 3:00 – 4:00 pm
December 19, 2017 (Tuesday), 1:00 – 2:00 pm

Low-Cost, Short-Duration Webinar II: Avoiding Common Application Problems and General Advice Based on Submitted Letters of Intent
During this webinar, IES staff will draw from their past experiences with Low-Cost, Short Duration proposals and discuss lessons learned, including common problems and strategies to avoid these problems. In addition, they will provide feedback on Letters of Intent submitted by the January 11 deadline (these letters are not required prior to the submission of an application but are strongly recommended). IES staff will discuss ways to strengthen the proposed research. Note that specific studies and research teams will not be named during the webinar. If you were unable to join one of the December webinars above, it is strongly advised that you review a recording of one of the sessions prior to joining this webinar. The January webinars will cover the same material, so potential applicants can choose between the two dates they are offered.
