Requirement for All New Students, Including Graduate & Professional students – CampusClarity “Think About It”
Please be aware that starting July 1, the University of Florida requires completion of the Campus Clarity “Think About It” online training course for all new students.  The course addresses the interconnection between drug and alcohol abuse, hookup culture, and sexual violence, and encourages students to reflect critically on the personal beliefs, social norms, and cultural pressures that enable high-risk behaviors.

This mandatory program will replace the “eCheckup” requirement that was previously required of all new undergraduate students. The new, “Think About It” course is mandatory for all new undergraduate, graduate and professional UF students, both online and traditional.  The mandate is in accordance with the Campus SaVE Act which will go into effect this year. Graduate and professional students will have a hold placed on their record which will be lifted when the course is completed.  Students will not be able to register for Spring 2016 courses until the hold is lifted. More information about the “Think About It” requirement and course is available at:
https://www.dso.ufl.edu/nsfp/first-year-experience/campus-clarity-think-about-it-module/

Babysitting/ Nanny/ Tutoring

Nanny Needed
Our family is looking for a nanny for our 2-yr-old boy from August 17th (or as soon as possible after that) until the end of the semester, with the option of continuing through the spring semester. The job is Mon-Fri, 7:30am until 1pm.

Responsibilities include potty training, engaging him with music/toys/dancing/speaking with him, as well as some light household upkeep (dishes, folding and putting away children’s laundry). Please contact mtrklja@yahoo.com or call 352-871-5211.

Part time or Full time Nanny needed for three children (12, 3, 1). We need someone that is great with kids, plans educational activities, can drive kids to extracurricular activities, and can help with 7th grade homework in the afternoon. Reliable transportation needed. Clean driving history. CPR certified. References and background check required. At least one year experience needed. Please email rachel.espetia@gmail.com if interested.

Gainesville MYcroSchool needs Tutors
We are currently hiring tutors for ALL subject areas for the upcoming Fall semester at MYcroSchool. Please see flyer for details.

Tutoring
I am looking for a Geometry tutor for my 13year old son who is taking Geometry Honors through Florida Virtual School. It would be very helpful if the person was familiar with FVS and comfortable working with easily distracted teens. I would like to start as soon as possible as his class has already started and he is struggling.

I am hoping for once a week in my home or a meeting place (preferably SW Gville, but I can be flexible). Please contact Kimberly at ktaylor6371@yahoo.com or call/text 352-219-5868.

Nanny Needed
Nanny for a toddler that has some soft markers for autism. He has not been diagnosed yet, but the family is on an early intervention plan with steps to take with him over the next several months. In this family, both parents work, so it’s important his nanny follow through on these steps with him during the week while they are away. For now, we need someone for three days a week at about 8 hours per day ($10/hour). The days will vary, because one parent is a fire fighter and has different days off each week. However, the mother is off on Fridays, so it should never fall on a Friday that this person would have to work.

Interested students can contact me with their resumes: jordananavarro@outlook.com.

Free Penn Equity Institute for Doctoral Students
This spring, the Center for the Study of Race and Equity in Education at the University of Pennsylvania launched the Penn Equity Institutes. These virtual institutes are typically aimed at senior leaders in K-12 schools (e.g., superintendents, central office administrators, and principals) and higher education administrators (e.g., presidents, provosts, and deans) who receive executive leadership certificates at the conclusion of 10 modules. The Center is offering a FREE Penn Equity Institute for current students in higher education, student affairs, and community college leadership doctoral programs. Students can register at no cost for a single module or the full series. Those who participate in all four sessions will receive a certificate from Penn.

This special Penn Equity Institute will focus on bringing a racial equity lens to one’s research agenda. Professor Shaun R. Harper, founder and executive director of the Center, will lead the four virtual modules. One will feature a panel discussion with Professors Estela Mara Bensimon (University of Southern California), Sylvia Hurtado (UCLA), Samuel D. Museus (Indiana University), and Julie J.
