Summer Grant Proposal Submissions: Update

Faculty in the COE are submitting 11 proposals this summer including 8 Institute of Education Sciences (IES) proposals many with the same deadline. To accommodate all submissions, the OER requests that PIs schedule an appointment time with Brian Lane blane@coe.ufl.edu to ensure all proposals are finalized and uploaded successfully before the deadline.

IES Offers Webinars for FY 2019 Funding Opportunities

The Institute of Education Sciences (IES) is hosting webinars to offer information about FY 2019 funding opportunities. Staff from the National Center for Special Education Research (NCSER) and the National Center for Education Research (NCER) will provide presentations, transcripts, and closed-caption video recordings.

Changes Are Coming to What Works Clearinghouse

The WWC recently passed its 15th birthday and has gone through many changes since then to ensure that it continues to help the nation identify what works for whom and under what conditions.

UFIRST FYI: Project IDC Returns

Each year, the Office of the Vice President for Research returns indirect costs collected from grants and contracts during the preceding fiscal year (July 1 – June 30) to principal investigators, department chairs, and if appropriate, directors of certain authorized centers. The current distributions are at Project Manager (formerly Project PI) 10%; Department 7.5%; and if a center is identified in UFIRST as supporting the project, then 7.5% to the Center. The remainder of the indirect costs collected are returned to the college after Sponsored Program Assessment (SPA) tax is assessed.

Fall 2018 NSF Grants Conference: Update

The National Science Foundation (NSF) will hold its 50th Anniversary, Fall 2018 Conference November 8­–9 in New Orleans, LA. Registration will open on Thursday, September 6 at 12:00 PM EST. NSF anticipates the conference will reach capacity very quickly and encourages you to register as soon as it opens.
